T13 Scottish Tunes in Sets

5-days from Sat 6th to Wed 10th April - 1:00pm

Merchiston Courses - Classroom Space

This course will focus on a choice selection of Scottish tunes which fit under the fingers of harpers and are easy to learn and satisfying to play.  We’ll learn the tune through shapes and repetition and add some “easy-to-grab” bass lines.  The tunes will be taught in such an order as to make up enjoyable sets of tunes which lead nicely from one to the other, giving you a wealth of material to add to your repertoire.

Tutor: Corrina Hewat - Corrina is a harper and singer and Principal Scottish Harp Tutor at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She is also composer, musical director, recording artist and musical collaborator. Corrina coordinates the award-winning Celtic Connections Festival series of public workshops each year and also leads Harmony Singing workshops across the UK and is a strong advocate of collective music making and its ability to connect and heal. She happily lives in a very musical community on the outskirts of Edinburgh and keeps on writing, playing and making music while continually promising to release another book of tunes.
